About the Project
The American Diabetes Association hosts a yearly event called the Wine & Roses Gala. It is from this gala that the Houston chapter pulls in the majority of donations and funding help for the year. ADA reached out to Hawkeye to elevate the visual identity and experience had at the event, in hopes of gaining visibility for both the event and the donors.
After analyzing the previous iterations of the event, a sense of monotony was unavoidable. The experience the attendees had at the event were the same year in and year out, as were the dining choices and the auction items. There was very little for attendees to truly get excited about.
Hawkeye proposed developing an evolving theme for the event centred around destinations where the elements of wine and roses were prevalent. For the 2014 event, the destination of choice was Paris, the dining options focused on French cuisine with the auction items taking a similar approach.
What resulted was an unexpected departure from the monotony of the previous years resulting a greater attendace and donation effort by those who did attend.
